101 for 51 years

101 things. I am older than my girls who did this, so I am sure I can come up with
More than and 101 things about myself. So here goes. No one has to read this.

1. I was born of Goodly Parents.
2. I am the 2nd of five siblings, Karl, me, Paul, Karen, Gregg.
3. I am 51 years old. ½ of 102. I never thought I’d be this old and I still remember
when 40 seemed forever old.
4. I am married to a man I love and adore for Time and All Eternity.
5. I have 4 grown great kids who I love more than words can express. Melanie 28,
Jodi 26, Gordon 22, Matthew 20. Mel and Gord are married I have grown to
Love their spouses, Justin and Jessica and am grateful they love my kids.
6. I have been married for 29 ½ years.
7. I can still remember my 1st home, in Magna. Small white house, on the corner,
facing East, with a fun basement where Karl and I could ride our
bikes around in the winter and we could walk and ride to grandmas. We moved
when I was 3.
8. My 1st best friend was Debbie Faccett, and my 2nd was Luann Barker.
9. My schools were Whittier Elm. Brockbank Jr. High. Cyprus High.
10. I was a very poor student. Never really having good grades. My only F was
in 4th grade, Mom and my teacher thought is was because Dad died, but it
could have been because my desk was full of Troll dolls and their furniture.
11. The only thing I remember about being Baptized was that I got sick and threw
up after, and couldn’t eat when we all went out to dinner.
12. I had a crush on my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Taylor.
13. I hated Jr. High and riding the bus. Enough said. Very bad memories there.
14. I had a Math teacher once tell my Mom that I had “Diarrhea of the mouth” thus
more bad grades.
15. I liked High School, Pep Club, Choir, Musicals, driving, friends, seminary, again
not so much the studying.
16. My dad died when I was 10. I remember a lot of different things about that time.
Doxey’s coming to school to tell us, lots of people in our home, mom and grandma
crying all the time, too too many people hugging me, standing in the viewing line
with mom and Karl and turning around when people came through that I didn’t want
to talk to. I remember thinking “these people are supposed to make me feel better,
why are they all crying and me telling them everything will be OK” I was 10 people!
17. I have never dyed my hair, only a few highlights a few years back.
18. I used to bite my fingernails. At 19 I had a waitress job at Little America and I stopped.
I do know mom and grandma tried all kinds of horrible ways to get me to stop.
19. I have never smoked or even tried,
20. The only alcohol I have ever had was in Hawaii when at a dinner a drink was
handed to me and I had a few sips and told Kim it was terrible and he laughed and
said it was a Mi Ti and full of Rum.
21. I have had braces twice and should probably have them again. But I won’t.


22. I still can cry at the dentist and need a valium ahead of time if work has to be
done. Not because of my anxiety, but because my jaw will lock up. Ask Gordon
about his Valium ear.
23. I have very dry skin and love my back scratched
24. I have never had a professional message. I was given a gift certificate once
from the kids but I let them use it. I just can’t bare the thought of someone doing
that. However I love a good message and Kim does a great job. (maybe too
much information).
25. I have never had a manicure or pedicure. I’d like one but not at the Wal-Mart Salon
26. I am a list maker; it gives me great pleasure to check things off.
27. I can’t stand to be LATE, or made to WAIT. It is just rude and inconsiderate.
you can always plan a head, even if that means the night before. Traffic and
emergencies are always allowed.
28. I love big cars/trucks. For some reason I like being high up on the road.
29. I enjoy and drive too FAST. I don’t even notice, my kids are always telling me
to check my speed...
30. I love my husband. He is great in so many ways. Thoughtful, caring, spiritual,
loving, lots of energy, very very patient. I am very blessed to have found him and
smart enough to have married him. He has always taken good care of me and our
family.
31. I worry that I don’t deserve his love and attention and that someday he will say
“enough is enough” and leave.
32. I am Moody.
33. I cry way too easily, sometimes for no reason.
34. I do not believe in PMS, never have and never will. If I am mad at you or stressed
or emotional it is the person or the situation NOT SOME DAME HORMONE!
35. I have graduated from college 3 times and still do not have my bachelor’s degree.
1st an Assoc. in Early Childhood Education, 2nd LPN, 3rd RN Assoc. degree.
36. 1st job Arctic Circle, 2nd and 3rd (same time) sewing factory (one reason I went to
College) and cashier at a local Pharmacy and drug store.
37. When I was in Mutual (Young Women’s) I never missed a sacrament meeting, I
had perfect attendance at all my meetings. I should have been written up in the
New Era, but none of my leaders really cared. No resentment here.
38. I was engaged after dating Kim for 3 weeks. Married after 5 months.
39. I have been fired from one job, RA in college, after participating in a water fight.
40. I actually called off the engagement/wedding once. We disagree on the reason but
my story is the right one.
41. I kissed Kim before he ever asked me out, and our 1st date was a sleep over.
42. I have had a total hysterectomy, 8 months later a gallbladder surgery, 6 months
later an appendectomy. When I started having abd. pain I had to call my girls and
asked what it felt like, they have both had appendectomies also.
43. I HATE having my picture taken.



44. I have been in our R.S. presidency for 4 years and 10 months. With 3 presidents,
I have planned 5 birthday social, 4 fall socials, 4 super craft night, and countless of
great activities (no one else will praise me).
45. I am very over weight, always have been and will probably always be.
46. I hate to exercise and get sweaty. Now you know why.
47. I don’t like flat hair, on me anyway. I am from the 70’s and puffy hair was in.
48. Sorry to confess, I’ve actually had a mullet.
49. I like to watch TV, hate reality shows.
50. I collect nativity sets. I hope they won’t all end up at the DI when I’m gone
51. Loved Seinfeld and can use and recite many episodes.
52. I am a Law and Order junkie.
53. I don’t like yard work
54. I like to organize closets and drawers.
55. I hate house work, but love a clean kitchen and counter. I have been known to have
dust bunnies fly off my ceiling fans if the speed is on high.
56. I coached Jodi’s softball team for 2 years. The Minnie Mitts. We hardly ever
won, but we were sure cute in our uniforms.
57. I wish I had stuck with and had enjoyed playing the piano.
58. I used to love being known as Aunt LeeAnn to Melanie’s friends and feeding them
OJ and corndogs. (the box in the freezer now might actually be from her high school
days) remember I hate house work.
59. I am proud of all my kids and their accomplishments. My only identity when they
were young was “aren’t you __________ mom” I would always be happy to say Yes.
60. I have been a Nurse for 30 years, an RN for 19 and LPN for 10 and Aide for 1.
61. I have only worked for 1 company, IHC, 2 hospitals McKay Dee & Utah Valley.
62. Since being married I have only lived in 2 homes and 4 apartments.
63. Only owned 2 new cars and 5 used. I have never nick named a car. But we did
have a big yellow station wagon once, and I would get mad at the girls if they
would be embarrassed to be in it, but actually I was totally embarrassed to drive it.
64. I am afraid of the dark. Especially the forest darkness when camping. I just
know all the crazy people are out there and just waiting.
65. Craft fairs are my weakness. I don’t always buy, but I like to look and get ideas
and take pictures if no one is looking.
66. I would rather do crafts that just about anything.
67. I hope that my vinyl machines doesn’t brake down and hope I might someday have
an actual business at home.
68. I like going to church meetings and feel bad when I miss for work.
69. I have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is TRUE.
And that we have a living and loving prophet who receives revelation and instruct-
tions from the Lord. And we can be an Eternal Family if we just follow the
Commandments.
70. My girls have said they want to marry someone like their dad. I am not sure
the boys feel the same way about me.

71. I like to decorate for the holidays. I have too many Rubbermaid bins to count, but
I counted them anyway. Christmas 23, Thanksgiving 2, Fall 2, Halloween with
Costumes 7, July 4th 1, Easter 2, Spring/Summer 1, St. Patrick 1. Please don’t tell
Kim.
72. I usually cry on Christmas
73. I like having parties, dinners & family gatherings at my home. They drive my
family crazy because I get anxious and need things perfect. I have lightened up
over the years.
74. I like talk radio, even though I’m not completely listening most times.
75. I hate cross-word puzzles.
76. I am addicted to, crave, think about, plan for, must have, bake with, makes me
temporarily happy, quilt after, CHOCOLATE.
77. I love my extended family.
78. I like playing Spider Solitary on the computer; it’s relaxing and has an undo button.
79. I have great in-laws. They are wonderful people and grandparents, very giving and
great examples to our children and Kim and I.
80. I am not good at the computer. But I am getting better with my families help.
81. When I take eggs out of the 18 count carton, I rearrange the remaining eggs to be
evenly spaced and balanced.
82. My knees are starting to hurt. I have had surgery on one.
83. I like to read, and have recently joined a book club.
84. I can’t wait to be a Grandparent! O ya I am going to be one!
85. I need to go to the Temple more often.
86. I count strange things, like tiles, light fixtures in meetings, stripes on anything,
buttons, train cars, just random pointless things.
87. Being an RN can be rewarding, very frustrating , very tiring, scary at time,
too much responsibility at times, not enough pay, worked well with
raising my family, can bring tears of sadness and laughter.
88. I love to have money in savings. I hate to spend it. I have always had
a fear of not having enough money. Ask any family member.
89. I get home sick when I travel. But I really don’t travel much. And I don’t plan
vacations well.
90. I don’t like sports, to play or watch, unless my kids were playing.
91. I hardly ever eat a well balanced meal. Isn’t carrot cake considered a Vegetable?
92. I love to eat out.
93. I am still friends with my college roommate. Lauretta.
94. I pin socks together before they are washed.
95. I have shaky hands and my handwriting is never consistent. I’ve heard that is
a sign of multiply personalities
96. I don’t like to shop for clothes and I hate to try them on.
97. I am not a pet person, but I love my kids so we have had 4 dogs, 4 bunnies,



2 birds, countless garbles, fish, frogs, lizards, turtles, and a homeless cat that
soon had kittens.
98. I pray that my kids will be happy.
99. I love my mom and family very much.
100. Kim and my kids are the best things that ever happened to me.
101. I am blessed beyond measure, and give thanks everyday for all my blessings.

Happy, happy birthday! I loved reading all 101 things about you except #31. You are such a kind & selfless person! I know we all have our insecurities but I know that you and Kim have the kind of marriage that will stand the test of time...and eternity! Don't ever let Satan put those doubts in your head! Thanx for your friendship and example! You are fabulous!
